Our Facilities
The Waimate High School Board of Trustees has a property occupancy agreement with the Ministry of Education, which was signed in August 1990. The Board of Trustees are responsible for the maintenance on land and buildings.
The school comprises 9.70 hectares of land which has been developed to include:
- A playing field which includes a rugby field, a soccer field and a hockey field for winter sport and athletics and cricket facilities (including an artificial and grass wickets for summer sports.- A block of land which includes a confidence course, cricket practice facilities and a specialised Year 7 and 8 play area.
- A paved area for netball, tennis and general recreation.
- A passive recreational area for senior students.
- An Agriculture block behind the sports field.

The school buildings comprise of the following:-
- Main administration block including 8 classrooms and 2 science laboratories
- B block which contains 4 classrooms ( plus 2 Information Technology suites and 2 Science laboratories)
- Home Science - Art Block (3 classrooms)
- Technical Block (1 Graphics classroom and 2 Workshops)
- A Hall with an attached Music Suite
- School Library
- Gymnasium
- Boiler house
- Groundsman's workshop area
- Caretaker's House
- Principal's house
- School canteen
- Outdoor Physical Education Shed
- Video Conference facilities
