| Deputy Principal
Mrs Pat Lyall
Background Information
I was born in South Otago and spent my first 10 years in the mining town of Ohai before my family moved to Waimate. My secondary education was all at Mercy College in Timaru (now replaced by Roncalli College) and I trained at the Dunedin Teachers College.
In 1984 I moved across from the primary school to take up a Term's Relieving in a Form 2 class here at Waimate High. I have continued as a Year 8 Home Room Teacher and in 2001 was appointed to my present position of Assistant Principal, later to become Deputy Principal.
This year I am enjoying the new challenge of teaching Year 11 English to the alternative class as well as teaching 9Fw English.
Current Interests
Over recent years I have ventured into the area of duathalons and triathalons. Running and biking while keeping me fit and eases the pressures that school life naturally generates. Having recently joined a book group, the reading of novels I wouldn't normally choose, has been a challenge. |
